Virginia May Reid, 92, of West Deer Twp., passed away Friday, March 28, 2014 at Good Samaritan Hospice, Cabot. She was born July 12, 1921 in Pittsburgh to the late John Robert and Virginia Spichty. Mrs. Reid, along with her late husband, was the owner and operator of the former Allen Reid Dry Cleaners and Reid Bowling Lanes of West Deer Twp. She attended Taylor Allderdice High School and the Keller Dress Making School of Pittsburgh in 1940. Virginia was an accomplished seamstress and bowler. She is survived by her children Hugh Allen (Rose) Reid Jr. of Clinton Twp, Robert David Reid of Low Gap, NC, Mark Scott (Mary Elizabeth) Reid of Penn Hills, and Virginia May (Douglas) Caesar of West Deer Twp; 11 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Hugh Allen Reid; siblings Mildred Jane York, Nadine Kreinen, and Robert Spichty Jr. Friends and relatives are invited to attend 2 to 4pm and 6 to 8pm, Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at the Adam Siemianowski Funeral Home 179 Starr Rd, Russellton, West Deer Twp. Services will be held Wednesday in the funeral home with Rev. John Baily. Mrs. Reid will be laid to rest next to her husband at Lakewood Memorial Gardens, Indiana Twp.
