Ruth
Cox
Jun 18, 1934 — Jan 16, 2025
Ruth (McCredie) Cox, 90, of West Deer Township joined our Lord and Savior, Christ Jesus, on January 16, 2025. Ruth was preceded in death by her beloved husband Merle, her parents James and Helen McCredie, and two infant brothers. Following her graduation from West Deer High School and Westminster College, Ruth devoted her decades long career to teaching music to generations of students in the West Deer and Deer Lakes School Districts. Ruth's love of music was also evidenced by her participation in the music programs of numerous churches and organizations throughout the area. Raised on her family farm in Deer Creek, Ruth maintained a love of the land and of gardening throughout her life. Ruth also loved traveling with Merle, particularly their trips to Ireland and Russia. Following Merle's passing, and at the age of 80, Ruth traveled to Israel to fulfill a dream that they had shared. More than anything, Ruth loved the Lord and her husband Merle. She was also dedicated to her devoted neighbor and very dear friend James Colnar, who brought so much joy to her life. Ruth's sense of fun and her loving presence brought happiness to many friends and family, so as to be uncountable. Friends and family are invited to attend visitation from 11 am until 1pm, Friday, January 24, 2025, at Adam Siemianowski Funeral Home, 179 Starr Road Russellton, 15076. A celebration of Ruth's life will be held at 1pm, Friday in the funeral home with Rev. Dave Kenyon. Ruth will be laid to rest next to her husband, Merle, at Deer Creek Cemetery, West Deer Township.
