Ronald Steve
Josefczyk
Feb 14, 1942 — Jun 2, 2026
Ronald Steve "Ron" Josefczyk, 84, of Cheswick, formerly of Sarver, passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 2nd, at the VA Community Living Center, Fox Chapel, surrounded by his family.
Ron was born in New Kensington, PA on February 14th,1942, and raised in West Deer, the only son of the late John and Marianne (Diluigi) Josefczyk of Russellton.
Ron was a 1960 graduate of West Deer High School and a proud veteran of the legendary 1st Air Calvary of the US Army, serving in the "Air Cav" from 1964-1966. Prior to his military service, he worked for Eat'n'Park restaurants, playing an instrumental part in opening many of locations in the Pittsburgh area. His picture can be found on the collage wall in all of their restaurants today. Upon returning from the military, Ron became quite the entrepreneur. He was the owner of Deer Path Trailer Park, Freeport, for twenty years, which included selling and building modular homes, and created DiLuigi Diversified Enterprises under which he ran his vending machine ventures and of course, his cheese empire. To say Ron was an avid sportsman would be an understatement. He loved to hunt and fish, and traveled all over the country and Canada to pursue these interests. He was a connoisseur of cars and motorcycles, owning, building and collecting bikes and antique cars since he was a teenager. He loved to sing and dance, and had a neverending sense of humor.
Ron was a man of many hats (quite literally), and a man of many names too. He was known to his friends and family as Ronnie, Bugsy, or The Cheeseman, to his children as Dad, and most importantly, to his grandchildren and great grandchildren as JaJa. When he wasn't hunting or working on cars, he was attending dance recitals, band concerts, Boy Scout events, baseball games and, of course, hockey games.
Ron is survived by two daughters, Brigitte Kennedy of Kittanning, and Ramona (Lino) Solis of Ingleside, TX, and two sons, Ronald John (Lori) Josefczyk, of Sarver and Troy (Linda) Finecy of Slippery Rock. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Christian and Amelia Jean Kennedy, Alana and Hayden Josefczyk, Jessica (Adam) Gagliotti and Heather Finecey, and two step-granddaughters, Charlotte and Hadley Solis as well as two great-grandchildren, Kaiden Finecey and Aubrey Gagliotti. Ron was preceded in death by his fiance, Jeanie Schouten, who spent twenty years by his side.
