Robert L. Bizyak, 74, of West Deer Township, passed away Thursday, May 5, 2022, at Squirrel Hill Wellness and Rehabilitation Center. Bob was born Sept. 2, 1947, in Harrison Township, son of the late Lewis and Helen (Garbos) Bizyak. He was a lifelong resident of West Deer Township and a 1965 graduate of West Deer High School. Bob served in the Navy during the Vietnam War as a sonar technician. He worked for the former Ellena Funeral Home and Siemianowski Funeral Home, Russellton, as a door attendant for more than 20 years. Bob was a very active member of the West Deer American Legion, Post 593. He served as the treasurer for many years. He was also the manager and coached the American Legion baseball team for more than 40 years. Bob became the director of Region 6 and then served on the state staff of Region 6 for American Legion Baseball. He was inducted into the American Legion Baseball Hall of Fame in 2002. He was preceded in death by his parents; lifelong companion, Tina Monarko; and sister, Karen Bizyak. He is survived by his extended family, Marie Monarko, of West Deer Township, and Thomas (Jeannie) Monarko, of Fawn Township; and several cousins. Friends and relatives are invited to attend visitation 5 to 8 pm, Monday, May 9, 2022, at ADAM SIEMIANOWSKI FUNERAL HOME, 179 Starr Road, Russellton, 15076. A blessing service will be conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Robert will be laid to rest next to Tina at Transfiguration Catholic Cemetery, Russellton.
