Robert L. Augustine, 78, of Russellton, West Deer Twp., passed away August, 30, 2015 at his home with his family. Bob was born February 28, 1937 and grew up in Creighton, East Deer Twp. and was the son of the late Louis and Anna Augustine.

He went on to serve in the United States Air Force as a jet engine mechanic. Bob worked as a maintenance electrician at Numec / Babcock and Wilcox in Apollo and retired from the US Postal Service at the GMF in Pittsburgh.

He was a member of Transfiguration Roman Catholic Church, Russellton, and was a singer at mass with the folk group. Bob enjoyed auto mechanics and classic cars, Lionel trains, Pittsburgh sports, music, hunting, shooting, and fishing, and spent many enjoyable times with family and friends at these hobbies. In retirement Bob served with the DAV as a veterans advocate and chaplain. He was also active in the American Legion, Russellton and volunteered at the veteran's home in Aspinwall. He also participated in numerous veterans memorial services.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 54 years, Gloria (Mennow) Augustine; sons, Robert (Mary Ann), James , and Andrew Augustine; brother, Bill (Barbara) Augustine and family; uncle, Ed Jager and family; numerous relatives, in laws, nieces, nephews, and their families. His spark of life and positive attitude will be missed by all who knew and spent time with him. Friends and relatives are invited to attend visitation from 3 to 8pm on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at the Adam Siemianowski Funeral Home, 179 Starr Rd, Russellton. A Christian funeral mass will be celebrated 9:30 am Wednesday at Transfiguration RCC, Russellton. Robert will be laid to rest at Our Lady of Hope Cemetery, Frazer Twp. Family suggests memorials to; Disabled American Veterans, West Deer American Legion, or The Veterans Hospital of Aspinwall.
