Leonielda "Elda" Elwood, 87, of Rural Ridge, Indiana Township, passed away December 10, 2016, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh. She was born October 4, 1929, in Tarentum, to the late Giovania and Antoinetta Valenti. She enjoyed reading and bird watching. Elda is survived by her children, James V. Elwood III of Dorseyville, Indiana Township, and Karen (David) Bodnar of Russellton, West Deer Township; 4 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband James V. Elwood Jr. in 1984; sisters, Lena Withers and Mary Matecka. Friends and relatives may pay their respects 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm, Tuesday, December 13, 2016, at the Adam Siemianowski Funeral Home, 179 Starr Road, Russellton, 15076. A Blessing Service will be conducted in the funeral home at 10 am, Wednesday. Elda will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband, James, at Lakewood Memorial Gardens, Indiana Township.
