Obituary

Lawrence Paul Diana, 82, went home to the Lord Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014, surrounded by his loved ones. Lawrence was a proud Korean War veteran. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he later moved to Pittsburgh, where he was stationed in the Army. It was in Pittsburgh that he met and married the love of his life, Alice. They would have celebrated their 60th anniversary in May. He is survived by his beloved wife, Alice (Bigler), as well as his brothers, James and John; and was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Matilda (Donovan); and his brother, Joseph Diana Jr. "Uncle Larry" will forever be cherished by his 17 nieces and nephews and numerous great and great-great-nieces and nephews. He was more than an uncle, becoming a guardian to some, and even a "grandfather" to one. His memory will live on in our hearts forever. Friends and relatives are invited to attend from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17, 2014, at the ADAM SIEMIANOWSKI FUNERAL HOME, Russellton, West Deer Township. A Christian funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Transfiguration Roman Catholic Church, Russellton, with the Rev. James P. Holland officiating. Lawrence will be laid to rest at St. Mary's Cemetery, Glenshaw.
