Lawrence "Spoony" Bassetti, 71, of Harwick, passed away, Thursday, August 27, 2026, at UPMC Passavant Hospital.  Larry was born on September 30, 1954 in Natrona Heights and was the son of the late, Lawrence and Mary (Mochanski) Bassetti.  He was a graduate of Springdale High School, worked as a coal miner in Renton, and retired from Allegheny County Maintenance Department.  Spoony had a great knowledge of events and people that lived in the AK Valley.  He was an avid local sports fan, following high school and professional sports.  Spoony was a member of the Springdale Krivan Club and enjoyed playing in the euchre league.

Larry is survived by his siblings, Bernadette Bassetti of, Harwick, Patricia Lawrence of, Russellton, David (Tracy) Bassetti of, Sarver and Thomas Bassetti of, Harwick; nieces and nephews, Susan Butela, Michael Palochick, Steven Palochick, Joe Butela, Chelesa (Johannes) Schieffarth, Dana (Kevin) Strellec, Justin (Sabrina) McGarry and Evie McGarry.  He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings; Rose and Mike Palochick and Robert and Rose Strellec; brother-in-law, Stanley Lawrence.
