Julius Lee
"Jay" Zangrille
Mar 16, 1954 — Aug 4, 2023
Julius Lee Zangrille III (Jay Bird), 69, of Oakmont and Conneaut Lake, passed away on Friday, August 4, 2023, in the same manner in which he lived his life, with strength and a sense of humor. Jay was born on March 16, 1954, in Pittsburgh, son of the late, Julius Lee Jr. and Charlotte (Rago) Zangrille. He was a master plumber and ran his family business, Zangrille Plumbing, for over 30 years. In 1976, he married Karen Diuluis, and they would have celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary on August 14, 2023.
Jay's life was always one of providing, protecting and caring for others. He served as an Oakmont volunteer firefighter for 25 years. Jay found joy in spending time at Conneaut Lake with his family and numerous friends. Jay was someone who would always listen but he never hesitated to give it to you straight. His garage was a place of laughter, where everyone was welcome and stories were shared. Jay owned every tool that ever existed and would allow anyone to borrow them, as long as they sat and listened to his detailed instructions on how to execute their project.
Above all, Jay cherished his role as a loving husband, father, and grandfather. His children and grandchildren were his pride and joy. Jay is survived by his wife, Karen; his three children, Jacquelyn (Daniel) Rodgers, Adrienne (Michael) Donatucci, and Julius (Katlyn) Zangrille; his six beloved grandchildren, Kaidyn Rodgers, Kinsley Rodgers, Gianna Zangrille, Nash Rodgers, Emerson Zangrille, and Avery Zangrille; his sister, Andrea Zangrille Peters; as well as his niece, Nicole McQuiston, and nephew, Richard Peters; and his bonus family/close friends Guy Oliver and Joe Flanick.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date to honor Jay's memory. The family strongly suggest memorial in his name to: Canine Service Pals, http://www.canineservicepals.org/ServiceDogDonations.html
