Obituary

James Edward Perry, Jr., age 74, of Plum Boro, passed away, September, 29, 2021, of metastatic melanoma. Jim was born on June 11, 1947, at Citizens General Hospital in New Kensington to the late James Edward Perry, Sr., and Olga Makara Perry. He attended Wills Elementary School in Kinloch and Arnold High School. After spending a few fun-filled years at the University of Miami and earning a degree in business, he went on to work at Allegheny Ludlum Steel in Brackenridge for 30 years.

He loved watching old movies and would scour the TV guide each weekend for boxing and wrestling matches. He also enjoyed sharing a great Italian dinner with friends at Rizzo's or eating dozens of perogies smothered with butter from St. Vlad's at home with his family. Many will remember him for his pride, since he always kept his lawn pristine and cars well oiled and waxed, as well as his generosity, as he often donated to religious causes and children's charities.

On August 28, 1976, Jim married his late wife Barbara Znosko Perry, and they were together for 43 years. He was forever grateful to the first woman who turned him down for a dance one night at a Tarentum dancehall. She was sitting with her group of friends reminiscing about their recent trip to Hawaii, and the woman's friend, who agreed to dance with him, eventually became his wife.

Jim is survived by his daughter, Allyson Perry and son-in-law, Richard Morris, of Fairmont, WV; sister Renee and brother-in-law Ted Peffley of Imperial; and many nieces and nephews. He will be truly missed by his friends Dick and Janet, Nick and Nancy, Frank and Pat, Leonard and Betsy, Dickie, and especially  Greg. Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, a private service at the discretion of the family was celebrated at, Siemianowski Funeral Home, 179 Starr Rd, Russellton, October 4, 2021. James was laid to rest next to his beloved wife, Barbara, at Mt. Airy Cemetery, Natrona Heights.
