George B. Earls, 84, of West Deer Township, passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at St. Margaret Memorial Hospital. George was born Jan. 14, 1938, in Huntington, W.Va., son of the late Ernest and Leslie (Parsley) Earls. He was an Army veteran, serving in the 24th Infantry Division. George was a retired sales representative for Buxton Leather and Jeweled Cross Co. George was a member of Our Lady of the Lakes Parish, West Deer Township. He was a former parish council president and coordinator of the parish festivals and Lenten fish fries for St. Victor Roman Catholic Church. As member of St. Victor Young and the Restless, he served as the travel director with his wife, Donna. George was a member of the Knights of Columbus 5501 and a past Grand Knight. He was also a former member of the Deer Creek Drainage Basin Authority. He was an avid lover of all sports, especially golf and basketball. He was a former basketball coach of Butler High School, Deer Lakes High School and Middle School, where he just finished coaching the seventh grade boys for the 2021-22 season. George was known for his wisecracks and joking personality. He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Donna (Veltri) Earls; daughters, Natalie Earls and Joanna (Eric) Bieniek, of West Deer Township; grandchildren, Ella, Marlee and Joseph; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers; and three sisters. Friends and relatives are invited to attend visitation from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday, March 20, 2022, at ADAM SIEMIANOWSKI FUNERAL HOME, 179 Starr Road, Russellton, West Deer Township, 15076. A Christian funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of the Lakes Parish, St. Victor Campus. George will be laid to rest at Transfiguration Church Cemetery, Russellton.
