Edward C. Buchanich, 66, of Cheswick, Frazer Twp., passed away Monday, February 10, 2014 at St. Margaret Memorial Hospital, Pittsburgh. Ed was born in Russellton, February 18, 1947 to the late George and Anna (Olczak) Buchanich. He was a 1965 graduate of West Deer High School and lived all his life in the area. Ed was a proud member of the United Steel Workers local 1196 and worked for 40 years at Allegheny Ludlum Steel, Brackenridge. He enjoyed classic cars, gardening, traveling, and a good glass of beer. Ed also loved spending time with his two grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 46 years Lorraine (Schwab) Buchanich; children Brian (Jeanine) Buchanich of West Deer Twp and Beth Ann (Craig) Rankin of Wilmington, NC; grandchildren Julie and Zach Buchanich; brother George Buchanich of Russellton. He is preceded in death by his parents and siblings Frank and Patty. Friends and relatives are invited to attend 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 pm, Wednesday, February 12, at the Adam Siemianowwski Funeral Home, 179 Starr Rd, Russellton. A blessing service will be held 11 am Thursday in the funeral home with Father Wesley M. Marsh.
