Dorothy Ann Schoener, 85, of West Deer Township, passed away, Monday, September 18, 2023, at Platinum Ridge Center for Rehabilitation & Care. Dorothy was born in Bulger, July 24, 1938, daughter of the late William and Marie Curtis. She retired in 2014 from Deer Lakes School District, after 28 years of service in the maintenance department. Dorothy enjoyed working in her yard and caring for her garden and flowers. She is survived by her children, Jeffery (Janice) Schoener of, Texas and Barbara Jean (Donald) Sopchack of, New Kensington; granddaughters, Ashley and Kristin; eight great grandchildren; siblings Regis (Clair) Curtis, Bud (Marilyn) Curtis and Connie (Ken) Allen; close neighbors, Jim and Jimmy McQuillian and Joell Conley. She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Melvin Schoener. Friends and relatives are invited to attend visitation 6 to 8 pm, Friday, September 22, 2023, at Adam Siemianowski Funeral Home, 179 Starr Road, Russellton, 15076. A Christian Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 am, Saturday, at Our Lady of the Lakes Parish, Transfiguration Campus.
