Obituary

The angels came for Anne Derkach Sempr, 89, on Monday, January 13, 2014. She passed at home in Culmerville in the arms of her beloved daughters, son-in-law and her faithful companion Addie at her side.

Anne was the loving wife of the late Albine Sempr whom she married in 1946 in Winchester, Virginia. Theirs was a very special love. Anne spent much of her life caring for others. Her devotion to her ailing husband and mother Mary was boundless. She missed her brother Andy who was tragically

killed in 1943 all the days of her life.

As a teen, due to her brother's death, Anne had to go to work to support her Mother. She walked from Bairdford to Treesdale to work at the former Pittsburgh Cut Flower. Anne also worked for National Electric Products Corporation in Ambridge and Penney's in New Kensington in the mid-1940's.

Anne was an excellent baker, cook, seamtress, and tailor. It was an honor to be invited to one of her countless dinners. Anne took great pleasure in hosting parties which included cooking and baking for her relatives, friends and neighbors. There was always plenty of room for unexpected guests at her table.

Anne's greatest joys were waltzing with her "Beans", traveling, fashion, antiquing and having her loved ones around her.

Anne was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary of Tarentum, Slovenian Association of Acmetonia, and the Pittsburgh Scottie Lovers.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Albine "Beans" Sempr, her parents Frank and Mary Harahus Derkach, her siblings John and Andrew Derkach and sister Mary "Babe" Leggens.

She is survived by her devoted caregivers; daughters, Renee Sempr of Rocky River, OH and Culmerville, PA, Adrienne Sempr-Capaccio and son-in-law Vito Capaccio of Culmerville and Pittsburgh, her faithful scottie Addie, and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Friends and relatives are invited to attend 2 to 9 pm Thursday, January 16, 2014 at the Adam Siemianowski Funeral Home, Russellton, West Deer Twp. A Christian funeral mass will celebrated 11am Friday at St. Paul Of The Cross, Pittsburgh. Anne will be laid to rest next to her loving husband "Beans" at Deer Creek Cemetery, Harmar Twp.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you keep with Anne's loving ways and pass on a kindness...visit someone in a nursing home or a shut-in, extend a hand to someone in need...do this in memory of her.
